LPD 808: Theory in Monitoring and Evaluation is  the first course in the Monitoring and Evaluation specialization offered during the first year of the  first semester.  Other course that will come later in the programme are LPD 809 Seminar Paper in M&E offered in your second semester; and  LPD 810 Independent Conceptual Study paper that will come in the third semester

Theory in Monitoring and Evaluation  course aims at  exposing  you  to the wider spectrum of  monitoring and evaluation as a field of study. During the course,  you will be expected to review and   interrogate various theories, methodologies, approaches and  practices related to to the field of M&E and provide an independent opinion on  issues reviewed. You will be expected to do desktop reviews on various topics and make plenary  presentation. The course is delivered through synchronous and asynchronous mode  It is examined in two ways; course work - examined majorly through oral presentation, assignments and tasks given on the LMS. All this is marked out of 50. End course examination - is  administered on the LMS and marked out of 50
